What is ORCID?
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a unique system created to identify researchers and their research. The platform allows you to create a free profile where authors can provide information about themselves and their research. The information provided on the ORCID platform includes:

- first and last name (preferably in different forms)
- education
- current place of work, as well as previous places of work (optional)
- information about grants received, participation in projects, etc.
- keywords related to the researcher's field of activity
This profile can be accessed using an ORCID iD, which consists of four groups of four digits separated by hyphens (e.g. 0000-0009-2008-0099), which comply with ISO 27729 (International Standard Name Identifier).
The first 15 digits ensure the uniqueness of each researcher's profile, and the last (16th) digit is a checksum. ORCID iD is always presented as a link: https://orcid.org/xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. This identifier links the researcher to their profile, which displays all their scientific achievements. It is used to confirm authorship of work when applying for grants or collaborations, thus confirming transparent scientific activity.
