On 10 January 2025, "Scientific Publications" held the first webinar in Uzbekistan. It was held on the basis of the Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages.
Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages – is a higher educational institution that trains specialists in the field of foreign languages. It was founded on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan and started its activity in 2022/2023 academic year.
The institute pays special attention to the all-round development of teaching staff who are not only fluent in foreign languages, but also able to apply modern international educational standards in their practice. Also Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages sets ambitious tasks to improve language education in the country.
Within the framework of international co-operation between "Scientific Publications" Company and Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages the first webinar on scientific metrics was held, which covered two topics at once: ‘Basics of Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. Problems of self-publishing’ and “Main indicators of scientist's activity and methods of their increase”.
Pavel Kolomiets, an expert of the educational and research center of “Scientific Publications”, spoke in detail about a number of aspects, including:
- features of the scientometric databases Scopus and Web Of Science;
- the main indicators that are used for evaluation in Scopus and Web Of Science databases;
- unfair journals and their types;
- difficulties of self-publishing;
- key performance indicators of a scientist;
- business models of scientific journals;
- co-authored work.
