At first glance, it may seem that science and cinema exist in completely different spheres. However, in reality, these fields are increasingly intersecting, shaping new approaches to research, creativity and cultural development. Watch our new interview to learn about the interaction between science and cinema, the importance of scientific publications for young researchers, and the current state of Ukrainian culture and cinema.
Anastasiia Zuieva, an expert at the scientific and educational centre of the Scientific Publications, spoke with Hanna Chmil – a Ukrainian researcher, film producer, cultural studies scholar, philosopher, film expert and educator.
The interview focused on the development of Ukrainian cinema and culture, the role of science in the arts, the specifics of international scientific communication, as well as the challenges currently faced by young researchers and the Ukrainian scientific community as a whole.
Particular attention during the conversation was paid to issues of scientometrics, publication activity in the international databases Scopus and Web of Science, as well as the impact of modern technologies and artificial intelligence on culture and audiovisual art.
Olena Lyaudanskaite, a Ukrainian journalist who works actively with the Ukrainian community in Denmark and promotes Ukrainian culture abroad, also contributed to the preparation of the interview. She formulated several questions regarding the improvement of cooperation between the diaspora and Ukraine, as well as effective tools of cultural diplomacy that can be applied in practice.
