Uzbekistan plans to launch a unified platform for scientists based on artificial intelligence. The main goal is to create a centralised information resource that will bring together data on the country's entire scientific and research infrastructure and enable it to be managed effectively. What is this initiative? What tasks will the platform perform? Let's have a look in today's article.

A unified AI platform for researchers in Uzbekistan
The project to create a unified scientific platform based on artificial intelligence is a state initiative in Uzbekistan aimed at the digital transformation of the scientific industry and increasing the efficiency of research. The platform is being developed by the Agency for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is intended to become a centralised information resource for the country's entire research infrastructure.
Key tasks of the platform
1. Unification of scientific laboratory data
The platform aims to collect and consolidate information about available resources, laboratories, equipment, scientific projects, and the potential of research centres in Uzbekistan. This will create a common knowledge base about existing opportunities for conducting research.
2. Analysis and optimisation
Thanks to built-in AI technologies, the system will be able to perform analytical calculations, forecast resource utilisation, and offer recommendations on the optimal use of scientific infrastructure. This will contribute to more efficient management of research assets and finances in scientific organisations.
3. Increased transparency and promotion of cooperation
The project also aims to promote openness in scientific processes, improve access to data, and strengthen cooperation between scientific institutions, universities, and research centres both within the country and internationally.
When is the platform scheduled to launch and what is its significance for the development of science?
The implementation of the platform is considered a key step towards shaping the digital future of Uzbekistan's scientific sphere. Its implementation is highly likely to improve the quality of scientific research and maximise the efficient use of existing laboratories and equipment.
The platform is scheduled to launch in December 2026.
Uzbekistan's National AI Strategy
Although the platform is not documented in regulatory documents, its creation is taking place against the backdrop of a broader state strategy for the development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in Uzbekistan. In particular, the AI development strategy provides for the development of technical infrastructure, the creation of laboratories, and the improvement of the qualifications of specialists in the field of AI; these provisions are set out in Decree No. RP-358 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 14 October 2024, which defines the action plan for the development of AI technologies for the period up to 2026.
